I'm Kenny Martin

 

I’m Kenny Martin, a Scottish photographer and mentor with a career spanning four decades. Since beginning my journey in photography in 1985, I’ve been fortunate to have  receive multiple Kodak Gold Awards, serve as a Kodak Masterclass Lecturer, and later chair the European Kodak Gold Awards panel. I also co-founded Golden Touch Seminars back in the mid 1990's, delivering training that’s empowered photographers across the UK and Europe.

After years of managing the pressures of weddings and commercial work, in 1996 I made a pivotal decision to shift my focus to portrait photography. With the guidance of a world-class mentor together we developed many new routes to market and promotional vehicles and by 2005 I went on to build Scotland’s first portrait studio to achieve £1.5 million in turnover on family portraiture.

From high-volume multi staffed monsters to unique boutique portrait studios and even an exclusive high end home portrait service, I’ve operated at every scale of the portrait business. In 1997 I was one of the earliest adopters of digital photography in Europe with Phase One, investing heavily to create Europe's first fully digital portrait studio!

Photography has taken me to more than 16 countries as a speaker and educator, but my greatest passion lies in mentoring. For the last 15 years through my Studio Doctor and Total Commitment Mentoring Program, I’ve had the privilege of helping 100's of studio owners all across Europe grow profitable, sustainable photography businesses in many cases changing the lives of these studio owners.
